What is a Digital Media Player? It's a device that allows you to play movie files or music/photos that you have saved on your computer directly on your TV. It can either play stuff you've saved from a USB hard drive or from across the network - wired or wirelessly. What are Powerline adapters? These are devices which allow you to connect or network computers together in your home by using the electrical mains outlets as cabling. Very handy if wireless isn't an option or running cables is too difficult. Used in pairs, you simply plug in each device into a mains socket at each location in the house where you want a network connection. 1 GBbps(gigabit) is best for HD Movie playback. What is wireless N? Wireless N in basic terms is the latest 'spec' for wireless connection speed of the your wireless router or adapter. Wireless N indicates the fastest speed yet and is recommended if you are thinking of doing HD movie playback over a wireless link. Wireless G (the predecessor to N) will playback HD quality too, but sometimes suffers from stutter. What is Network Storage (NAS) NAS stands for Network Attached Storage. A NAS drive is basically a Hard drive that is directly connected to the network by a network cable which is connected to your router for example. They can be used to store all of your media so that it's available 24/7 AND without a computer having to be switched on too.
